I am running BE 8.6 I run my backups and get a successful but I am not seeing them in the restore selections. Why is this or how can I fix this. The last selection I see in my restores is for 4/24 but I had a successful backup last night.
You are probably overwriting old jobs. Lets say that you run 3 consecutive backup jobs each night. If all 3 jobs are set to "overwrite", then each job will overwrite the last backup.
If this is not the case, then run an inventory and catalog on last nights tape. After it finishes, see if the job shows up under Restore Selections.
It's maybe one of the two previous solutions. You perhaps also have a catalog corruption.
Check the event viewer to see if there're BE error messages, if so, try to :
- Stop BE services,
- Move the "betopcat.idx" file to a temporary location,
- Start BE services,
- Verify that the new backup appeared.
