Hi Everyone.

I am trying to subtract off a logo on a shirt that is
in a video in premiere 6.0. I have had partial success
by creating a background matte that is white and then putting a image matte on the clip itself and reversing it.
I can use the handles and only have the thing on the shirt
turned to white. The problem is that the subject in the
video is moving and I can't figure out how to move the
matte without moving the entire clip. Is this impossible?
I can't use a chroma key because the logo contains colors
that are in the rest of the video? any tips or pointers
would be greatly appreciated!

thanks so much.

Hi Rob
I am really only familiar with Premiere Pro so forgive me if what I suggest does not work for your version of Premiere. What you are asking for is done on a regular basis - car number plates, faces of the people on telly etc. The best way for you to do this is to create a matte that is kind of about the size of the logo that you wish to hide and then bring this in as an alpha key (like a title or graphic) into Premiere. They use the digital effects in Premiere (DVE) to move the matte around on the moving background video. The DVE will thus let you move the matte (or mask) that is hiding the logo.
I hope that this is of some help.

thanks for the info!I downloaded the tryout for premiere pro
and I think they changed how you do mattes. Has anyone been
able to do this in 6.0? I may need to upgrade

The way to go is Track Matte - look it up in the Help.

Track Mattes are easier to use in Premiere 6 than in Premiere Pro. No justification for an upgrade here.

There is a tuorial covering this technique at
