HI ,

I am try to create a subtotal for a formula field which I have created in Group Header#1 but when I right click on
the result the subtotal does not appear.

The contents of the formula is as follows :

if len(GroupName ({PURCHASEORDERNUMBER})) > 0 then 1
else 0

What I am trying to do is put in the number 1 when there is a new PURCHASE ORDER NUMBER and then add the subtotals.
But I am unable to use the subtotal function here.

Why am I unable to use the subtotal function ?

Because Groupname is a group formula rather than a detail formula. What subtotals are you trying to add?

If you just want the total for a PO, right click the field you want subtotaled, select insert, summary and sum by PO.

Thanks...

What I am trying to do is count the total number
of POs and then place the total in the Header.

I thought the best way was to attach a count for
each Po and then Subtotal them but the subtotal function
is not working here.

Place {table.PONumber} in the details section and then right click and insert a distinctcount on it.
