Hi, Is there any way of using substitution variable in MS Access Query just as in Oracle SQL Plus using ampersand (&)?

I am not familiar with Oracle SQL, what is the purpose of it?

If you are asking the purpose of substitute varibale is that, it gives you a prompt after running a query to enter the value instead of hardcode the value in your query (code). In that case you have more choices to retrieve (select) records.

Ok, got it. What you need to do is where you want the prompt, put "[Enter Data]" without the "". You can put anything you want within the square brackets.

for example you can do this in the criteria portion of the query:

[Please enter the Start date] and then for the criteria of another field you can put [Please enter the End date].

Let me know if you need more help.

hneal98, that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks a lot.
