I'm using CR 8 and am now adding a couple of parameters to a couple of subreports. The parameters are being used in the selection formula. The problem is as soon as I put in the parameter the subreport no longer runs. I can run the subreport by itself and it will run but it doesn't run as a subreport. I am sure that the parameters are being passed from the main report to the sub. Is there something I'm missing? An obscure option I'm supposed to check or something?

Thanks in Advance for any and all assistance.

show us your record selection formula of the subreport... Jim Broadbent

Just a couple of questions,
1. does the report you are inserting contain any subreports itself? 2. will the subreport run when inserted but not linked to any parameters?

Here is the record Selection formula for the Subreport:

{PROBLEM_VIEW.ORGANIZTION_ID} = "5" and
{PROBLEM_VIEW.OPEN_DATE} in {?Pm-?Startdate} to {?Pm-?EndDate}

The report that I'm inserting does not contain any subreports and the report does work when I put values in instead of the parameters.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Does anyone have anything I can try???
I desperately need working.

Your subreport that is added in your main report.Right click on it and click change sub-report links and see if the links are properly set ie values youu require are being passed properly.

I've checked that and the correct information is being passes on. It's just that the subreport won't run. I don't any errors and it runs fine standalone. It just won't run as a subreport.

Anything else I can try?

{PROBLEM_VIEW.ORGANIZTION_ID} = "5" and
{PROBLEM_VIEW.OPEN_DATE} in {?Pm-?Startdate} to {?Pm-?EndDate}

2 questions:

1. Is this the entire Record Selection formula?
2. Are the date parameters in the same format as the field
{PROBLEM_VIEW.OPEN_DATE} .... I have run into problems
with Date parameters compared to DateTime fields

As an alternate you might try

{PROBLEM_VIEW.ORGANIZTION_ID} = "5" and
{PROBLEM_VIEW.OPEN_DATE} >= {?Pm-?Startdate} and
{PROBLEM_VIEW.OPEN_DATE} <= {?Pm-?EndDate};

I didn't get the problem solved but I found a better solution for my problem. Since I mainly do the report for the previous month I just used "lastfullmonth" to pull the dates in automatically.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
