Subreport Links CR8.5

Hello!

I've just realized that the field which I should link by my subreport to the main report is a different type than the field in the main report.
I mean: both contain Line# information but in the table for the main report it is TEXT and in the table for my subreport it is NUMBER.
I cannot change the structure for neither of the underlying tables...

Is there a way to still link by this field?

Dear dgabriela,

Create a formula in your subreport:

Totext(Table.Numberfield,0)

and link the main report text field to this formula field.

Yes, the formula works! And I will use TONUMBER because of the zeroes in front of the text (001 vs 1)
I panicked for a minute because I didn't expect this different type issue...
