Hello,

I would like to create 2 subnets to practice to a windows exame (each subnet with a Active Directory server). I would like the subnets to work as similiar as possible as if the subnets was created with phisical machines? Waht kind of configuration should I use?

Any site/paper with an example?

Thank you.

(server A) ---subnet 1--- (Router) ---subnet 2--- (server B)

Obviously it's a bit more complicated than that; but those are the basic components...

LearnToSubnet.com and RouterGod.com have useful and amusing tutorials on the networking aspects. Obviously, Tek-Tips.com and Microsoft.com/technet have a lot of detail on setting up servers.

The only difference a VM makes is physical. It still takes just as much Sysadmin time to manage...

Accomplishing this is very simple. The actual logistics will deped on what VMware product you will be using. You can indeed accomplish this with VMware Server, Workstation or ESX. If you post which one you are using, I may be able to supply the details of how to set it up.

You can build vms in different subnets by attaching the vm nic to a different vmnet interface.
