Subnet remote access question

I am a newbie to SMS, so please be gentle.

We only have two subnets here at our shop. I have both subnets in the boundaries and in the network discovery. SMS seems to have discovered all of the clients, however, one of the subnets we can connect to remotely and the other one we can't. Does any one know why the remote control agent would not work for a specific ip subnet? Please help I am stumped.

Is there a router or a firewall between the subnets ?

No, both subnets are on the PDC.
