Subform not saving record 1

Can anyone help

I have a subform that doesn't seem to save the record to its underlying table unless I close the main form or navigate to a new record and then navigate back again

I have entered the following in after events on subform controls but it still doesn't seem to work

DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, acSaveRecord, , acMenuVer70

Any help would be gratefully received

You could try this one:

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord

and it works!!
