Subform and negative numbers in currency delima 1

Making Negative values show as negative number instead of inside parenthesis in a currency field type.
I have a subform where I am keying in -100 and then when I leave the field it changes to (100.00). Is there a setting to make this stay as -100.00 ?
Or another way to do this. I makes it less confusing.

Then I am not sure, I have this working in my applications. Could it be something with your computer's regional settings?
Does it do the same thing if you change the format type of the text box? What is the data type of the field?

Change your format from currency to

$0.00;-$0.00

This will bypass regional settings as jordanking pointed out.
My database did the same with the () around negative numbers
