Sub Report

Hi All,

Crystal 9.0
Windows XP
Progress Database Version 91d

Is there a way to control the sub-report i.e. process it depending on a parameter?

The reason is that if the user finds it slow to add the sub-report then he can set the parameter to 'dont include/process sub-report'.

Sure, place the subreport in a seperate section, right click the section and select format section->x2 next to suppress and place the criteria there, as in:

{?MyParmaeter} = "Suppress"

Or you can suppress the subreport itself by right clicking it and selecting format subreport and using a suppression formula for it.

Depends on where the subreport is in the report...

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, i am already suppressing the sub-report but what i want to achieve is how will i tell the sub-report not to process the records.
This will let the report run faster if the user doesn't want the sub-report to be shown in the main report.
By the way, the report has 4 sub-reports in the details section which the user can suppress individually via parameter.

If the section is suppressed, the subreport will not run. So SV's conditional suppression solution should work fine.

Hi, I am not sure if you have resolved this, but if not it sounds like you could do a : ON-Demand subreport.
