I have a CR 8.0 report with a multiple column (2) subreport. When I preview the container report it inaccurately shows my subreport with a single column. When I preview the subreport it is accurately showing multiple (2) columns. I am stumped.

Are you using "down then across"? If so, and if the subreport shows about the same number of values each time it executes, then while in the main report, go to format subreport->uncheck "Can Grow". Resize the subreport so that is it large enough that all records show without losing the columns.

Actually I am using "across then down." I will only have two rows and two columns of data at the most (4 records)in my subreport. The subreport is in section D3. While in the main report, I formatted the subreport by unchecking "Can Grow" and the size of the subreport is large enough to show all records.

I tried using "down then across" had the same results.

That is odd. Is your main report in landscape mode, while the subreport is in portrait mode? I think the subreport takes on the print mode of the main report. Anyway, try increasing the width and gap in the layout tab until it forces the columns when the main report is run.

Thank you soooo much! Both main and subreports were in portrait. At first i increased the width of the subreport beyond 8" and behold! So I put the width back to what is was previously and actually decreased the width in the layout tab.

You look at these things long enough and the simple things never seem to jump out at you.

Thanks again.
