Hi folks,

Been reading through the posts here for aiding but couldnt solve my issue.

I have 2 built-in subreports say Purchase Orders History and Sales orders History separately. I'm pulling shared variables from these two subreports in my Detail section where the 2 variables comprise of avg purchased unit price and avg sales unit price.

I would wish to hid the subreport details if a certain paramter is chosen in the main report say Hide=Yes.

I read that if i suppress the section, my shared variables from the subreports in my main report would not be correct.
Now if i chose not to suppress, but unclick the 'Can Grow', my shared variable is still not evaluated at all.

Any advises on what can be wrong? I'm stuck..

Hi,

It works fine .Thanks
But suppressing of the Sub report along with text box besides the Sub Report should not do when i go with your steps "Suppress Blank Section" & "Suppress Blank Report".

Text box is still showing though the Sub Report is Suppressed on the Detail_C Section.

Thanks

I don't really follow you. Are you saying there is also a text box in Detail_c that you want suppressed so that the whole section will suppress? If so, what is the purpose of the text box, and what exactly is in it?

Hi LB,

Really appreciates of your reply.

The SubReport which is placed in the Detail_c Section of the Main Report also has the Text Box exactly just on the left side of the Sub Report.It does not have any functionality on the report but only a text for representing the purpose of the SubReport Eg:Deductables .

I hope you got the point

Insert a new detail section detail_d and place the text box there. Format detail_c to "underlay following sections". Then select the text box->format text->suppress and enter the same suppression formula there:

whileprintingrecords;
shared numbervar x;
x = 0 //note no colon

Placing it in a lower section allows the suppression formula to make use of the shared variable.

hi lb,

sorry for the late reply, been caught up with alot of work lately to check on the forum. I got your meaning, i should conditionally suppress all the sections in my sub-report based on a shared variable of my flag sign.

I'll give it a try!

Btw karnd, maybe u can explain abit more on the structure/layout of the report which maybe we could help?

hi,

i tried another way that was suggested, to set the size of all my fields height to 0.001 and it did work to what i want.

Is there a way now to conditionally set the height of the box? So that say the user choose Y for details, my height box will be back to normal. Possible?
