Running Premiere 6.0 on an XP platform (AthlonXP 2500+, 1gig RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro) using all DV.

If I export a movie in either Quicktime or AVI, regardless of the compression used (I prefer DV codec), I get bad stuttering on playback IF I export at 720x480 *AND* my clips have effects in them (in this case, all my clips are set to 50% speed).

If I export at 640x480, only the bottm half of the playback stutters.

If I export at 320x240, no stuttering whatsoever.

If I export at 720x480 with no effects (i.e. clips are all set to 100%), no stuttering at all.

I should mention as well that timeline playback is flawless in all scenarios; this is only happening when I export.

Please help! I am doing videos for Xmas cards.... :0

TIA!

Paul

although this wont get rid of it all together, it does help smooth it out abit. as i have the same trouble some time.
if you goto your video effects and drop in de-interlace flicker on the slowed down clip, then set the softness to whatever you find necessary. this may make that harsh jerkness a weee bit better.
