I am using Access 2002 and I have a table with a field name title "Account status" the field is a look up with the two choices being "Open" or "closed". My stupid question is this: How do I get a form to only show the entries that are "Open". I have tried changing criteria in a query to get it do that but I can't figure it out and the $150 worth of books haven't been able to tell me. Any help is appreciated.

Hi

If you create a query with all of the required fields and base the form on that. In the query's design view under criteria for the 'Account Status' field type open then save the query.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. I did that and when I try to view the query is says "Data type mismatch in criteria expression" I have tried several different expressions with similar results. I almost think I am trying too hard...

I just figured it out. Since it is coming from a lookup field I had to enter the number of the primary key for Open or Closed to get what I wanted.

Hi

Just a thought. Have you changed the data type in the tables design view after entering the data.

This is odd since I have Access 2002 and have just tried what I suggested and it works fine. [spineyes]

Hope this helps
