Stupid but how do I get version information on COM object

Basically I want to know the current version of a ATL Object from within the object.
 
In MS VC++ or in the Visual Studio Tools subdirectory, run the Ole/COM viewer. The COM objects are grouped by component category. You should be able to find the version, CLSIDs, and IIDs
 
Isn't that info stored in the registry?<br>

You should be able to take your GUID and search for it, but haven't done this myself.<br>
