We're having a problem with a site created using Interdev 6. The site runs fine in test, however on moving to the production environment, the pages will not load, AT ALL. The site was created using many design time
controls and I would rather not have to have it rewritten, as it is a large web.

The production environment is:
NT4 SP6a
IIS 4
FPE 2000
Office97
MDAC 2.5
IE 5.0
Hardware is Compaq, so no Alpha conflicts.

Other webs load using ASP, however no DTC. We have even attempted to do a full install of Interdev on the production box (as the developer had it installed in his test environment), but this did not resolve the issue.

Is anyone aware of any imcompatibilities/dependencies that we may not have considered regarding DTC (even as simple as the browser version installed at server, etc.)

Any suggestions welcome. We are baffled.....

Thanks.

What do you mean 'moving'? Are you publishing the site from a Development server to the production server?
Also do you receive any error message at all in the browser. If so post it here.
Also did you check the servers log entries? If there are any realated to the problem post them here?
Is the _ScriptLibrary installed in the new environment?

I would not suspect anything like that.

Yes

>Also do you receive any error message at all in the browser?
No error message. Actually upon submitting the URL, the page appears blank, and when we try to view the source, there is no code in the page but a meta tag and a few other references to the character set and so forth.

>Also did you check the servers log entries? If there are any realated to the problem post them here?
I have not personally seen the error messages, however my lead programmer indicates that he is able to determine that the DTCs are creating the problem. In particular, on the default page, he has determined that a problem exists with the Document Object Model.

Thanks for your help.

Are you running any other asp pages on the same server? have you checked the properties of iis to make sure that the web will allow scripts to run?

>Are you running any other asp pages on the same server?
Yes, other sites using asp run. These sites do not, however, use DTC.

>have you checked the properties of iis to make sure that the web will allow scripts to run?
Yes. All IIS settings are the same in dev and prod.

Hi,

Did you remember to setup an IIS virtual directory to point to your files on the server?

The DTC's should not cause this issue. You may have something horrible in the global.asa.

Try creating an asp test page that does not use a DTC - if this does not show up then you have an IIS config problem.

The virtual directory must be an 'application' - use the Create button on the home page tab in IIS admin. (Content Management)
