Study Plan for XI Certification 1

Hello,

Could someone outline a study plan for me to obtain CRCP XI certification. I would prefer to use books etc instead of going to a instructor lead course.

The exams are based upon the material that is covered in the manuals that are used in the instructor led courses.
Since you don't want to take those, you can either study on your own, sign up for the WBT classes that BOBJ offers instead of instructor led training, or you can look at Annette Harpers CRCP guide that she wrote for version 10:

I have taken the exams and took a combination of instructor led and WBT's from BOBJ and I felt they prepared me well to pass.
I have not seen Annette's book, but other people here have posted that it has helped them.

If you got your hands on the course books that would be the best thing. Even if you know crystal well, really they are testing you on the course they deliver. Some of the questions are no brainers, but it's the ones the book covers that will catch you out.

I guess all in all it's useful to learn this new material. I've recently been though CRCP and BECP and passed both by going though the course material a couple of days before.

Thanks for the responses.

Here are my first 2 steps so far:

1. Downloaded & installed Crystal XI.

2. Bought Annette's book & started reading it, paying attention to her post here about the main differences between 10 & XI.

Hopefully my 3rd step will be to pass the first test.

Is it possible for me to obtain/purchase the course books, from another person who has been certified & doesn't need them?

have you tried e-bay or amazon.com? I found some of them there last summer for an earlier certification of crystal at relatively nice prices!
if mine weren't an older set (and not a whole set) I would offer, but I don't know that they will be much help with XI...

Also you might be better waiting to get manuals until the next release of BOBJ CR comes out around December (I think??) as we're not sure exactly whats going to change in that version.

Can you still take the CRXI exam?? or was it just the re-certs that had to be done by the 31st May?
