I have a question. when I export email to a .pst the from fields have things like "John Doe" in them rather than
jdoe@anysite.com. is there a way to get them to have the email address? If not is there a way to dump out the mapping separately?

Thanks!!

Tricky..

The names are pulled from the exchange server, the SMTP address is only an underlying information which only exist when there is the existence of IMS service. It is never mapped internally.

Ok. So, this is not doable?

I have a user that insist he needs this. If this is the answer I will pass it along.

THANKS!!!

Maybe someone else has done this but I would think this is more of a client side trick. Exchange users are always given Full Names, and the only people who's name appears as john@domain.com would be those who are relayed thru the IMS in Exchange. Hope it makes sense.

You can certainly 'dump out the mapping' (as you call it) from the Exchange 5.5 GAL - a full mapping of GAL Display name to SMTP address for all GAL-based mailboxes - is this what you want?

I don't want to do this for everyone. This is just when a person moves email from his Excahnge Box to his PST.
