Hi folks,

Is there a clean way to run the equivalent of the 'replace' function on a string of greater than 2048 characters? I'm thinking of parsing the string into chunks of less than 2048 characters and running replace on each substring, but I can't find a function that will parse a string into substrings of a certain length.

Thanks!

Chetan

Hmmm...only known of one other peson to use wombat - strongm - did you work for Link Flight Simulation in the mid 80's?

Sorry, not me. But I'm glad to see that Wombat is in use by other people ;-)

Just to stir the pot a bit more the maximum length of a variable length string is around 2 billion characters not 64K (this only applies to fixed length strings) and as far as I know Replace would work OK on a 2 billion character string but you'd need a lot of RAM and it might take a while :)

Quite so - but most of the time in this thread has been spent talking about the limits of a VBA text box...
