Morning All,
nt4 sp6
office 2000 sr-1
hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue.
i have a user who is attempting to open a text file, located on their desktop with word.
whenever they try they receive the following:
the document name or path is not valid. try these suggestions...
(c:\winnt\profiles\userfirstname.doc)
after hitting ok you get the same message again except for the last line
(userlastname\desktop\cofc.txt)
actual location of the file is:
c:\winnt\profiles\userfirstname userlastname\desktop\cofc.txt
there is a space inbetween userfirstname and userlastname.
they can open this file from other folders, that do not contain a space in their name.
did a detect and repair of word. scanned through the registry for .doc entries, userfirstname, userlastname, etc.
any hints?
regards,
longhair
