Hi !

I see this seems to be an excellent forum ! Perhaps somebody can help me ?

My system is Win2000Pro. It used to work properly till recently I observer the strange phenomenon:

After certain time of computer activity the quality of TCP/IP connection is decreasing (step by step: the web pages are becoming more and more corrupted, e-mail looses connection with its servers, etc.) and finally I am even unable to link to Personal Web Server on my own computer !

The problem seems to be caused by WinSock error 10055 (Insufficient Buffer Space) - that is the message from certain applications like Outlook Express or GetRight.

Lavasoft Ad-ware detected some spy-ware on my computer and it was removed but I would like to rebuilt Winsock and Winsock2 registry keys - as I believe this might be the source of my problems.

Do you know how to acomplish this process on Win2000 ?
I've seen some tutorials but everone was concerning Win9x what is not my case.

Any help will be appreciated !

Thank you !
Ziggi

Ziggi:

I had the same problem (well, similar) and had been working on it for several days. I came across your thread which gave me the idea to check the Lavasoft website for ideas. Sure enough, I found the link listed below. I ran the program and everything is working properly....so far. Good luck!

Q: I am having problems browsing the Internet and using my e-mail client, what could be causing this and how do I fix it?

A: Some software programs hook into the systems Winsock, upon removal, the program that has hooked Winsock should return Winsock to its prior state. That does not occur sometimes. If you are having this type issue, please download and install the Winsock fix file; Winsock Fix
