Strange VPN voip phone issue

G3si Prologix with Medpro VoIP card
4610SW VoIP phone configured to work over VPN

The phone worked fine for about a year.
Running over Time-Warner cable modem/router combo
No network changes on the phone or company network so I am certain the problem is with the home router from Time-Warner but trying to cover all my bases.

The phone will boot, go out to my TFTP server which it can only reach through the VPN and it will get the txt files. Once it is done getting the files from the TFTP it says "Discover [ip address of my switch].

How can a VPN phone be able to vpn into the network but not discover my phone switch?

Using port 1719 to talk to the Prologix switch. On the home router I have created:
a static ip address for the phone,
turned off the firewall,
enabled pass through for the mac address of the ip phone
Set port triggering for port 1719
Configured Forwarding for the static address of the phone to the public IP of my VPN for port 1719

I can't ping the ip phone from the local home router even though the Client List of the router says the phone is plugged in. So this Client List from the web interface of the local router tells me the IP and MAC address of the phone but can't ping the phone physically plugged into one of it's switch ports.

My TFTP server that can hand over the txt files to the phone says the ip phone has an internal ip address but when I try to ping that internal address the ping fails. Doing a list reg on my switch does not show the ip address of the extension of the phone. Kinda not a surprise there siince the phone cannot discover the switch.

Just very strange why the phone can VPN into the system and get the config files but cannot see the Proligix phone switch.

Any suggestions?

Firewall changes can cause port failures of this type, Check with the Cisco cats and verify all required ports are open from CLAN to station

Surprise! Most loopback jacks are located conveniently behind the ear and above the leg
