Hi

I've had an increasing amount of people in the last week claiming to have called my call centre and been answered by a recording of a french man!

No idea really - all the calls are routed from IPO (ddi to shortcode) -> VM -> phantom extension ->huntgroup

I'm going through all the incoming call routes to make sure but any ideas?

check in your VM folder if you have any french prompts installed, US english is ENU folder then French should be FR or FRC for canadian french. If you have no such folders then it could only be a recording that is recorded in french

Thanks Westi - I've just realised this myself so I've deleted everything except the "en" folder.

I thought this evening I'd also do a complete shut down of the system to see if that helps...

Cheers CarGoSki - just checked and they are all blank.

I have got somewhere though - I've noticed that one of my incoming DDI's isn't pointed to a shortcode and no fallover. when you call it you get the strange frenchman...

I've also noticed that I've got 19 or so shortcodes that are 4 digits - the first 3 digits of which are another shortcode i.e. *690 and *6901. I'm thinking that under load the switch isn't managing to connect the 4 digit shortcodes quick enough and therefore dumping the call in the same place as the unconnected DDI which appears to be the french wavs. Despite the fact that I've no deleted them...

what do you think - plausable?

Are you using "User Rights"?

If so untick a user from the User Rights and try *17.

An update - so far I've tried the following:

1) Checking the PCs locale settings - all uk
2) deleting every non-uk way off of the voicemail machine
3) making sure there are no errors in my config
4) checking all the locale settings on every DDI
5) checking all the locale settings on every extension
6) checking all the locale settings on every user
7) mashing my head repeatedly into my desk
8) rebooting the voicemail PC
9) screaming aimlessly at my trackball
10) raised a support ticket

Anymore suggestions?

Run the vmpro helper app and follow the call flow to find the true destination/source.

BTW I hope when you "deleted" the other language prompts that you went to add/remove programs/vmpro/modify and unselected the other languages instead of deleting the files.

Thanks CarGoSki.

Erm...(quickly runs off to add/remove programs) I've only got the installer for the IP Office Admin Suite and IP Office User Suite.

(I did though just delete the files...)

Where would the vmpro helper app be located - it's not in the Start/Programs or the Voicemail Pro folder?

The helper app is part of the vmproservice. A warning before you use this though. If the service is logged in as a account then be sure you note the user and make sure you know the password so that you can put it back. Also changing the manner in which the service logs in is a service restart to make active. Otherwise known as voicemail won't work for about thirty seconds to one minute.

goto services and find "voicemail pro service". Double click and select log on tab. If "This Account" is selected be sure that you know the user and password so that you can put it back when finished troubleshooting. Select Local System Account and select Interact With Desktop. Apply, o.k. restart service.

When helper app shows on screen click Run. You will see it hurl up a lot of text when vmpro srats working again. Test vm for operation. Start you trouble shoot.

Better is to use the vmpro dbgview tool instead of running on local account

It does the same

Why do it simple if you can do it difficult :)
