Hello all,
I have a little quirk that I can't figure out. Every time I try to print pages from a long word document (Word 2003), a small dialog pops up with the title "Update Table of Contents" and it gives me two choices: Update page numbers only and Update entire table. If I select one or the other of the choices and click OK, the document goes ahead a prints, but this is a bit of a nuisance. Does anyone know why this is popping up every time I try to print from this document?

Because at some point it was told to.

Go to

Tools | Options | Print

and uncheck "Update fields

Hi Dr.
In Tools/Options, go to the Save Tab and uncheck Update fields before printing or something like that. This will stop the popup box. TOC is considered a field and will try to update each time you save or print.
Hope this helps,

Best,

Thanks Blue,
It happened to be the "Update Links" option in the Print page of the options dialog.
I appreciate your input.
