Strange smilies, signs, letters till paper tray is empty

I have this problem with several HP printers. Sometimes when I want to print a document, the printer prints stranges smilies.

It is always about 2 lines, filled with crap like smilies, strange signs, letters, etc...
And he keeps going till al the paper is used.

Anyone knows how to solve this?

Have you tried a virus scan? Sounds similar to the original bugbear virus.

This usually happens when you're using the wrong printer drivers. Re-install those drivers and see if that helps.

Usually a driver problem, could also be a bad parallel cable.

I had the same problem with an old laserjet 5xl, running Windows XP. Changed the &quot;Print Processor&quot; setting in Printer Property from &quot;Text&quot; to &quot;Raw&quot; or vice versa. I havent had this problem since.
