Option 11, set an incoming route for distinctive ringing so we get the double ring....but it works a little TOO well. There's no pause between ring cycles, so we just get "ring ring ring ring ring ring"...instead of the "ring ring......ring ring......ring ring" like I'd expect.

How can I fix this?

First lets find out if "New Distinctive Ring" was turned off by accident. "Old Distinctive Ring" does what you have.

LD 22
REQ PRT
TYPE PARM

Look for NDRG. If it is NO then you have funky ring. Set it to YES and test.

Not even listed in LD 22....nor is it an option in LD 17.

What gives?

Ahhh...it's because I have the FTC package. Honestly, I'm not going to be changing any tones or cadences, so I'm OK with turning this package off.

How do I go about doing this?

On older releases, you cant print by "Gateway" so make sure you've tried LD22 REQ PRT TYPE CFN

Then do this to see what release you are:

LD 22
REQ ISS

Then

LD 22
REQ PRT
TYPE PKG

and look for "DRNG 74"

The package is there....but admin manual says NDRG isn't an option with the Flexible tones and cadences package.

Any way to disable this...or am I better off just changing the cadence in LD 56?

I think so, I forgot about that :)

I did find this: faq798-4253

Great that worked.

Just one more question though.....I have 1 device ahead of the system on one of the COT lines. For some reason, even on analog lines, the Meridian is providing ringback. When the phone ahead of the system is answered, the Meridian doesn't stop ringing for about 2 cycles....meaning the calling and called party have ringback over their conversation.

Any way to force the meridian to NOT provide ringback (there is an option for this in ld 14, but it only allows this to be changed on digital trunks), or to stop ringing on time?

Can I ask a question in this tread for I'm trying to do the same thing. Distinctive Ring on my route 99.

You don't have to ask if you can ask, just ask :)

Thanks GHTROUT.

I have pkg DRNG 74 and FTC 125.

Made the following changes to Route 99 in LD 16

DRNG = Yes
NDRI = 2

This distinctive ring is to short and quick and won't work with fax

How do I change the NDR2 PBX 002 to read 004, is this done in LD 56 if so how.

Thanks for your help.

REQ CHG - then follow the book and the prompts...that's what I do.

GHTROUT,

Once again thanks I just followed the book and it worked like a charm. Everyone is happy with the ringing.

Thanks

Outstanding! Lemee tell ya, doing ANYTHING in LD56 is mass confusion. I was scared to try to explain it :) Great job!
