Hi,

We have a HPColorLaserJet 8500 and every morning the first page it prints out (A4) has a strange mark (about a cm2)on it roughly about halfway down the page on the lefthand side, it seems to repeat horizontally across the page from there until it fades out completely before the end, every page from then on is fine.
the mark seems to multi coloured but predominately grey.
I imagine there is toner settling somewhere in the printer when is it inactive, but i am not sure where to look,
in the last 2 weeks i have replaced the fuser kit, transfer kit and drum.
can anyone suggest where to look for a build up.

I appreciate this is difficult without seeing the actual problem.

thanks in advance

Does this mark show up in any of the print quality tests?
What do you have the fuser timing set for ?

it shows up on a print quality test if it is the first thing it prints out after warmup

can you advise where i can check/set the fuser timing

thanks

C

I should say you may have some silicon oil leaking onto your fuser roller, or the thermal switch is dirty and each morning as the roller turns, it dumps muck on your first copy.

Change the fuser and try it.
