I have a problem where one extension on my system seems to be receiving calls from all over the pbx that aren't intended for her extension. Now I know that sentence don't make sense so here goes with an example:

Extension 2093 calls extension 2611. 2623 is on the phone and receives a call on rollover line 5623. Goes to pickup 5623 and the caller is 2093 attempting to call 2611. Sees the following on her caller id:

My feeling is it is a RNPG issue possibly but I haven't done anything with RNPG since I have been here and I have been here over 7 years. I copied the tnb from each extension involved in this paticular example but according to extension 2623 she has been picking up calls that were intended for other people and this has happened a few times this week. change rnpg to 0 on either 2611 or 2623. I'll bet that if 2623 didn't answer the call, it would have went to vm, but since both of these are in the same ringing pickup group and both phones have group pickup allow, it's going to work as you describe. However, i have a feeling as soon as you change the rpng, someone will complaint they're not able to pickup calls for xxxx anymore.

I'll give that a try. The weird thing is the person at 2623 is reporting that her phone rang and when she pressed her k01 is when she picked it up. She says she has received calls intended for others too. She did mention to me that she can pickup the phone and dial "13" and pickup calls ringing for our customer service lines. The two extensions in the example aren't even in the same department or area.

I am not sure how call rnpg works. How would someone pickup the phone, dial 13 and snag a call? Where is that all setup?

RNPG isn't actually set up anywhere but on the phones themselves. 13 would be the SPRE Code for call pickup

bfulller did you print out the list of users in rnpg 5 and make sure they're all relevant? LD 81 req-lst, cust 0, feat-pua, rnpg 5

The thing is I haven't maintained rnpg since I have been here so I am sure they aren't relevant. I am not even sure what they are used for. I did a lst, gpu in 81 and i get a data not updated since no date. That leads me to believe that there are no group pickup buttons. I lst, pua and I see it appears that 90% are in pua 1 and there are a few in random others.

How do i see what SPRE codes are programmed? I prt cdb in ld 21 and i see that spre is set to 1 but I don't know where to find anything else. Thanks!

Pickup groups should only have phones that are in the same office or vicinity. Just guessing but it seems like someone has been using CPY without checking the RNPG.

SPRE codes are used by dialing the SPRE (in your case 1) plus a system code that cannot be changed. You will find this list in the Telephones and Consoles Fundamentals Guide. Not all codes will apply to every system.

Dial SPRE + Operation performed
1 Ring Again
2 Cancel Ring Again
3 Ringing Number, Call Pickup
4 TAFAS (Trunk Answer From Any Station)
5 Charge Account for CDR
6 Authorization Code Access
70 + ACOD + mmm (Trunk Route Access Code and Member) Trunk Verification From Station

That would be me! lol. I didn't know anything about rnpg. I am going to clean it up and see if that corrects the issue I am having. Still strange because the person who intercepted the call says she just pressed her second line to pickup a call that was ringing. Time will tell I suppose.

So I may have a bigger problem since it appears that I have around 100 extensions in rnpg 1. Although I may need to verify that pua is set in cls.

Thanks for all the assistance!
