I think I have everything set up right. but the scenario is that I can get OWA to work inside the network (on a PC) and outside the network (on a Macintosh).

But when I try the same login info on a PC OUTSIDE the network, I get the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" Error Page. Note: I've only been able to try to login OUTSIDE the network on a W98, Second Edition with all updates and IE 6.0 with all updates).

Is there something I have do or not done right? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bart.

I'll try this. Or, it looks like if I update the Exchange box to SP2, then it'll clear itself up.

fyi: sp3 is the latest

sp2 or sp3 sometimes didn't fix this

so i ended up doing the registry thing

for my info: is there a proxy involved?

Hmmm....I guess I'll do SP2, then do the registry stuff.

There is a firewall on the server side, in this situation. But no proxy server on the off-site, where I'm trying to get in from.

It's a wonder why my MAC has no problems getting to the OWA interface, but the PCs do...

I'll keep you updated.

As people have said isnt this the problem with MDAC and internet explorer clients.

I had this problem whilst behind a transparent remote cache by the ISP and on other companies LANS, I could hardly ever read my email.

The ways round it were to

-Use netscape / mozilla / opera
-Go to SSL, you can create and SSL cert yourself but its probably worth buying one. Should you really have OWA available to the outside world with no encryption?

i would go with the second opinion dbrasco offered: SSL

this means all traffic will be encrypted and the webdav protocol is in the encrypted stream to your client, so no proxy fuss all the way

Sorry i forgot about that solution, because this one solves your problems certainly !

/Bart

Thanks for the tips. I'll be trying any/all solutions over the next few days.
