This is a strange issue. We have a BCM 200 with a digital line card installed with 12 lines (the other 12 are for data). Gradually , throughout the day the lines will fill up and we will begin to get "all lines are busy" both on the caller side from outside and the internal callers. When I open the BCM monitor it shows several of the lines with a ? by them saying connected.. I posted a screen shot of my BCM monitor on the web to see if anyone could help understand what was happening. can you tell me if there is a way to remotely disconnect lines in the system through the BCM monitor?

Are you doing any trunk to trunk transfering? Such as receptionist receives a call and then does an external transfer to a cell phone or other outside number? From the look of your Monitor the trunks are connected to each other and are not dropping. Another instance would be voicemail external transfer. If someone gets the AA and the presses a path to reach an external number.

Anything that would cause trunk to trunk calls is what I would look for.

I think Chad is on the right track. Check with your telco and see if disconncect supervision is on the trunks. The only time I've had this issue has been with analog trunks that come out of a channel bank. I've never experienced the problem with good old POTS lines.

Thanks so much for your help. This is a t-1 split through a channel bank. We have a t-1 modul the BCM with 12 lines enabled. We do not have any external sources that we transfer to and/or any outbound notification/transfers. Do you know if there is a way to disconnect lines remotely through the BCM console or Putty ./. I sure appreciate the help.

You'd probably need to disable then enable the module to get the lines to properly release.

Is this set up as a T-1 or PRI.If T-1 and the channels are loop you will have disconnect problems. They need to be ground. And the phone co. will need to change it on their end also.

Yes, this is set up as a T-1. Just to confirm, I need to change it to LOOP and have the phone company change it to LOOP on their side. Thanks so much for your help.

can you tell me also if I will loose programming on the lines? such as which ones are provisioned

No you wont loose programing it will stay the same. But it needs to be ground start..not loop.
