Mix of 3903, 3904, and 2616 phones.

I have a strange one for you guys, I hope someone has some knowledge on this.

About 2 months ago I noticed my 3904 doing something strange. the little phone icon on my home button would light up as if I was on the phone. It would light up for a few seconds or so and then go back off. At first, I thought my phone might be going bad, so I just figured I would wait till it caused me an issue and replace my handset. However, I began to notice this same issue on some other sets around out office. Now it seems system wide. Its not just limited to a single card or switch cabinet. (I have multiple cabinets connected with fiber and fiber receiver cards). My real issue is when this is occurring the phone set will not ring. I noticed this for sure in our accounting department where multiple phones ring on the same DN. When that dn is dialed phones with this issue do not ring. Does anyone have any experience with this? Replace SSC Cards? Replace backplanes? Replace the entire thing with an IP system??? any information would be greatly appreciated.

you mean like FWDL under load 32? I normally do it only when I set out a new phone set. Do you think that would have an impact? And I actually know one of the sets that is doing this was flashed just a few weeks ago.

I'm guessing that you have a Option 11c system?. Are you using fibre between the cabinets?. I've known the fibre cable to cause problems. Check your history file in LD 22 using AHST to look for odd events.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I had this issue in a Critical Care Unit. The key 0 would come on, sometimes flash and none of the phones could be reached. THe problem I found after about an hour was one of the unit phones was actually bad causing the circuit board of the phone to act like it was pressing the key. I found the glitchy phone and as soon as I unplugged it all the other phones worked normally. Hopefully that is the same issue with you.

LD 22 gives me this. Any help?

I would power down all cabinets and back up and see if trouble clears.

Do you really have this many phones unpluged?
