I have a machine running Win2K on my network. For no apparent reason, not one that I can figure at any rate, all the desktop shortcut to application icons have been 'overlaid' with the 'empty recycle bin' icon, with the exception of; My Computer My Documents, My Network Places, Outlook and Recycle Bin. Has anyone seen/rectified this before?

Help!!

Thanks.

I have run virus and spyware checks, both of which returned negative results.

Thanks for that one Eguy.
I didn't use this fix as reading it jogged my bosses grey matter and we did the following:

Enabled hidden files to be shown, searched for and deleted 'shelliconcache' file and rebooted. This multi recycle bin effect is down to a the above file being corrupted.

All is back to normal now.

Cheers

Great!

Glad you got it working.

And thanks for posting back with the fix that worked for you. It may help others in the future.
