Hello All,

I have a strange error message that has popped up on the front of house. Specifically this problem appears on 2 Terminals. An error message on the screen appears as the following:

"This terminal is full of printing. Correct all printer errors, or ask a manager to reroute bad printers."

I am guessing any of the following could be the cause and still needs to be looked into...

Bad printer log
Bad printer or printer cable
Bad printer configuration
Incorrect dip switch settings

Other then that I am not sure. If anyone has seen this error and has any additional information feel free to let me know.

Aloha Version: 6.2.24
Operating System: Windows XP

"full of printing," then that terminal is writing to a printer log (Prt*.log) to which there is not a functional printer associated.
The printer log stores unprinted information so it can print it once the printer is back online. However, the log can only store so much cached information. Once the printer log reaches is maximum amount of cached information, then you will experience 'This terminal is full of printing' messages on the terminal that is driving the printer. You must either enable the printer in order to purge the cached information or delete the offending printer log.

Cheers,
Coorsman

Yeah it looks like we have come to the same conclusion. The printer in question had a bad data cable run causing the printer to go offline. Print jobs had been re-routed to this printer and as you described the printer log did become oversized. I believe the log got wiped out during nightly (I could be wrong about that part), but the problem has gone away as of this morning.

Thank you for such a quick response Coorsman. I greatly appreciate your input in these forums. Anyways have a good one bud.
