I have a deployed ASP.NET application where on some pages, after loading is finished and the browser status bar says 'Done' in the bottom left corner, the browser (IE) progress bar starts to slowly 'charge up' again.

I have run perfmon on the server and it definitely finishes serving the browser request.

It's really annoying because users don't think the page has finished loading and assume it's down to poor performance.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before at all?!

Thanks in advance.

I have noticed this as well, not on any of my apps, but just when surfing the web. I think it may be an IE issue.
In this case, I would just inform the users that when the see the "Done" message, that the page is done loading, regardless of the progress bar.

Thanks Jim, I'm inclined to agree with you.

Just done some testing using Firefox and don't get this behaviour.

Flippin' IE.

Hey no problem. Has anything from Mircrosoft ever been bug free??? lol

Hey, that's cool that you found an actual answer to your problem... :)
