We currently have a farm of four Win2k3 SP1-servers running Presentation server 4, but have witnessed strange behaviour on one of the servers (CF1). Users have to start the published applications twice in order to get the app running. The first time it will just flash over the screen before it is gone again. Have not seen any error-messages in any eventlogs or anything, nor have I been able to find out anything about this problem other places on the web.

It is also only CF1 that has this issue. None of the other three servers currently do, and we have been able to reproduce the problem on them.

Any help appreciated.

Everything can be solved by the application of uncontrolled force.

We've tracked the problem to a custom command being executed for client comport redirection in the connection configuration. We had the following command in the Initial Program-box under Advanced: net use com2: \\client\com1:

This caused any connection to the server to NOT initiate the full process of logging onto the application. It would stop and chug at this command for a while before the aforementioned behaviour would manifest itself.

Is there any timeouts for logons onto a Citrix-applications? The second I removed the command from the connection config, it worked flawlessly.

Issue fixed by doing a chfarm to a test farm and moving back into my regular farm....weird fix, but it worked.
