I have a Magix running a straight T1. The extensions match the DID range. Problem is when I try to assign lines to the voicemail calling group (5000) to be handle by an "amanda" voicemail the lines/pool will not assign. I figure it is due to the fact that the lines are E&M. How do I get calls to my main console of 5449 to go to the AA after 4 rings or by pressing the night service?

This console has a mail box and it needs to stay. I could figure out some Ideas to try if it were not for the Amanda. THis use to all work unitl the processor had to be replaced. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Do you still have the original BACKUP CARD?

Perhaps it could be restored to a surrogate switch.

The setup you describe will point D-I-D calls to a given extension.

It sounds like your coverage got changed.

The original problem on this system was the ETR card would not produce dial tone. When the new processor was installed as a troubleshooting step it was found that the ETR cards worked whenthe processor was at default. The programming fromthe old processor was installed on the new processor and the original problem came back. Customer wanted the new porcessor left in place just for the warranty. I have a complete print out of the origninal set up saved to my computer. When I go through it i can't make heads or tails of the original set up. Who ever programmed it in the begining changed pool 890 to just 9, and renumbered 7929 to 5000. There are no DID's matching 5000. I don't really understand what you mean by coverage got changed.
Thanks,
JAHMS

It sounds like you are already aware that the digits on a straight T1 cannot be "adjusted" as they can on a PRI.

I think the first step is to call the telco and find out what digits they send when the main number is called (assuming that calls to the published number arrive on the T1). My guess is that they are either sending 5000 or 5449.

Since you cannot put those T1 channels in the VM cover group directly, so you'll have to do one of the following:

If the digits sent are 5449, then simply have the Operator covered by VM group and add a Coverage On/Off button (just label it Night Service).

If they're sending 5000, then make sure that the 5000 group is setup to overflow to the VM group. Who knows why those were renumbered as they were. I usually just have 'em send 771, which overflows to 770. My attendant is then built as 771.

I tend to be a bit long-winded. But all I've said here is what MerlinMan already said in a more concise way: your coverage got changed.

It sounds more like a board mismatch issue on the original programming. Restore the old programming off of the flash card, then check your inventory in maintenance. Odds are the slot your ETR is in is actually programmed as an 016 T/R, if so just do a "board renumber". All your "old" programming will stay except for the card type in that slot.

Interesting thought from DavidATI; he may be on to something. That might be a great avenue to pursue if detangling the coverage stuff sounds too troublesome.

I have checked the coverage but there wasn't anything set up originally that i could see. here is what the operator looked like prior to anything being done.
Thanks again...

A EXTENSION INFORMATION

Ok, so that rules out the Operator at x5449.

A quick call to the telco will also give us a clue. In the meantime, we can keep going if you'll post a printout of the 5000 DGC.

Hi jahms,

We need some clarification here. You mention 5449 being an operator station, but the print you posted shows station 5949, and is missing the button assignments!

What is going on?

Please post complete prints on the calling groups and the DS1 so we can better help figure out the problem and offer solutions.

....JIM....

Was going off memory when I typed 5449. What the print shows is correct. When I did a "ALL" Print it did not show the calling groups. That is information I do not have. The only thing I could do is restore to a different switch in the shop and print from that. I will attach all information up to the first extension. I have just about come to the point of tearing this system down and re-doing it a better way.
Thanks

First off, if this system is pretty much meeting your clients needs, I wouldn't take all the hours it would require to rebuild from scratch.

As far as your night service issue, print and post the NIGHT SERVICE from the print menu.

That should tell us something.

I with MerlinMan on this one. Reprogramming the switch isn't trivial, especially if you're trying to recreate all the oddball details. Strange as the programming may look, there's a lot of sense in not messing with what the users are accustomed to. Besides, the PRINT ALL isn't complete enough (apparently) to rebuild their switch with any confidence.

Fortunately, what you show here IS enough to point us in the right direction. And here again, I'm with MerlinMan; the next place to look is in the Night Service programming. Please do the following: System Programming | Start | More | Print | More | More | NightServce and post here.

Lastly, I'm glad to hear that this is a dump from your shop's switch. The 800 GL-ID card in slot 4 is history. It looks like someone hosed a software upgrade, because the module no longer has any firmware in it.
