Store.Exe and Dr. Watson

I am fairly new to the game and have already jumped right into the fire. Came to work today to a downed Exchange server and I am having difficulties fixing the problem. The short of it is that everytime I start the Internet Mail Connector service it immediately comes up with a Dr. Watson error on "store.exe".

any clues or questions? help?
 
we have tried that to no avail. It seems that the problem actually lies with the Internet Mail Service (connector) itself. We recently disconnected the server from the network and restarted the IMS and it immediately Dr. Watsoned as it has been doing all day. It leads me to believe the connector may be corrupt, but I am not sure.

any other ideas?
 
ok...new twist...we started the services with the IMC set to inbound mail only...and it works great. When we set it to either outbound only or inbound/outbound it crashes the IMS and Information store..........sounds like fun....can anyone help?
