I'm having problems with my macro's because I'm using a template to pull out data and saving that data to individual files. Now my original macro in the tempate file doesn't work. I'm thinking this is because Excel saves the macro file as a bas file and is overriding my template file. Does anyone know if that is the case, or does Excel save the Marco file within the worksheet?

Please advise!

Excel will write the Macro to the file.
hit Alt and F8, this will bring uo the Macro dialog box,
now look at the box where it says Macros In.
This is all the open workbooks that you have that have macros in them. Make sure that you are not saving macros in the Personal.xls workbook..

most people either choose options and add a shortcut key to the macro or assign the ,macro a button..
If you need help with this let me know..

Thanks,
If this does not help at all let me know

So, Excel doesn't associate the macro with a certain file. So if I create 20 files from the template everyone of those files will have the same macro name? If I don't save my template file to a different folder than the files I'm creating, then the macro will be overwirtten, correct?
