Hi! :)

We're running AcrServe Version 9.0 (Build 1868).

Every time we select to stop a job it hangs and we need to restart the compuetr to get rid of it. Any tips?

Thanks a million! :)

Thougth I'd add it's Arcserve for Windows run on a Windows 2000 Server (SP3, 5.00.2195).

Hi
stopping a job takes time to get stopped completely you have to wait for somtime.

As a workaround go to job status and find the job No the go to the folder 00000001.qsd and delete the job but you will loss the job and you need to recreate again.
always save your job as scrips ASX and keep them in safe palce similar cases.

If the update 9.01 is not applied apply it from support.cai.com

Hi!

Thanks for your reply Mohamdr.

The time I waited for the job to stop was over four hours. If I selected to stop the job again right after the first time it said that it was already stopping the job. But if I waited a few minutes and tried again I was not told this but it was as if I'd never stopped it. The status still said stopping job though.

I don't know much about Arcserve. I've just got the backups for the vacations.

I'll se about to update the version (we'll wait until after the vacations). Let's hope it helps. :)

If I get into the situation of yesterday again I'll check the .qsd's out.

Thanks for you help! :)

You can also kill the asrunjob.exe process - this will cause the job to terminate instantly, causing a status of Crashed - but it will stop the job and rewind the media.

But will that not stop all other jobs that's running to?

Thaere is two robots connected to this server and they are usually running one or two jobs each at "backup hours".

Thanks! :)
