Hello-

We have a product that requires you to stop the service prior to backing up the database or it will not be a valid backup. I was told there is a way to stop and start services via backup exec. Does anyone know how to do this? I am running Backup Exec 10.1.

Thanks,
dmv
p.s.- I do NOT want to stop the Backup Exec service

pre/post command in job setup
Get the batch file from the vendor to stop/start the database services and place them in a directory on the database server. Then put the path\batch file name in pre-post command in job set

Great....I'll give that a shot.

Thanks Steveot!
