Basic question I know but im kinda new to AIX, i want to make a change to the SSA adapter but i cant because its in use, how do i stop the adapter and then restart it when ive made my changes

All you need to do is remove all of the SSA drives via rmdev. Obviously, this entails running a varyoffvg and exportvg.

What are you looking to change ?

Bill.

Hi

You want to change your SSA Adapter, or ingreasing the the Loop ?
When you want to replace your Adapter Shutdown the Maschine, change the Adapter.
Connect the Loop an Boot your Machine, Cfgmgr will find your Drives and Rebuild them.
in diag -a delete your old Adapter.
look in lsdev -Cc adapter.
