Hi,
How do I deny users from changes the button labels on their 4620 under Feature Button lableling?
Is that something in the download file for phone settings from TFTP?

Thanks in advance.

on the 46xxsettings.txt file you can:

OPTION ACCESS SETTINGS

This setting restricts access to certain user options.

When OPSTAT is set to 000, the user options
are not accessible.

When OPSTAT is set to 001, the user can only access
the Log-Off Option.

When OPSTAT is set to 010, the user can only access
view-only options. The user cannot change any setting.

When OPSTAT is set to 011, the user can only access
view-only options and the Log-Off Option.

When OPSTAT is set to 100, the user can access
all options except the view-only options and
the Log-Off option.

When OPSTAT is set to 101, the user can access
all options except the view-only options.

When OPSTAT is set to 110, the user can access
all the options except the Log-Off option.

When OPSTAT is set to 111, the user can invoke
any or all of the user options.

SET OPSTAT 111

What does the "view only" options include?
Can this information be password protected so if my techs go out to a desk they can access it only?

shouldn't really use phone labelling to rename features. if somebody logout from his/her phone and went on and login to a different phone with his/her extension the label isn't going to be there. if they are static, feature that needs to be rename use system abbreviate dial list instead

On the switch side, under the user's station record. Strike "Customized Labeling" as N . this will not allow the user to do any button labeling. This applies to all buttons, not just features though.

Make a extension that is your default for a Dup sta for your 4620 etx and change the fields as you need them...
