After the blue startup screen, a workstation goes into autochk because it says the drive may be corrupted, then a STOP 000001E screen indicating KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ntoskrnl Address 801a9324 has base at 80100000 (C0000005,801a9324,00000001,0).
So some kind of access error, no help at MS's site other than maybe page file problem...This workstation was working just fine up to now, nothing added or changed, it just started doing this. Are we looking at reformat and reinstall?

Hi,

Can you pls let me know which service pack you have applied last and also let me know if you have installed NetMeeting in your machine. If it is installed already pls Reinstall the same and install the latest SP..Pls get back with the status...

Rgds

SP 4 was applied and NetMeeting was not used. What I have done is to reinstall NT, then SP 6a, and it seems to be fine now. But do not know what caused the problem in the first place.

TechNet self came to know that the STOP 1E message may occur after the first reboot during Windows NT Setup, or after Setup is finished. Three possible possible causes of the problem are:

1. Lack of disk space for installation.
2. Third-party video drivers (and the Microsoft Windows NT
 Win32k.sys driver).
3. System BIOS incompatibilities.

But I don't think this will be the reason in your case. I feel there should be some sharing vilation or file corruption.

Rgds
Sunil Varma
