Hi,

How can I stop the firewall from xp service, in order to install one thing that need it to be stopped.

Thanks in advance.

If you go to My Network Places, then View Network Connections

On the left hand side there is a set of options - select 'Change Windows Firewall Settings'

From there, you can disable the firewall.

Don't forget to turn it back on when you are finished!

Hope this helps

There is a Service called "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" in the Services accessed via typing services.msc in the Start Run box.

In Control Panel there is an icon called "Windows Firewall" which can be used to turn off, or on, the firewall.
