Hey all,

Having a problem with a Standard 2003 Server install.

Due to having no floppy drive to load additional RAID drivers during install I was forced to create a streamline copy of the install disk including the RAID controller drivers.

This worked fine. After the first stage of install and it hits the Server 2003 splash screen for the first time (just as it loads the GUI part of install) I get a bsod and the error: -

"STOP c000021A the session manager initialisation system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c"

I cannot resolve this issue through normal means - technet, google etc. as most solutions seem to pertain to previously operational installs.

Ideally I would install a floppy but its a 1U Tyan chassis and there is an 'optional extra' FDD controller which I of course do not have.

Any one have any ideas? Possible slipstream copy problem?

Thanks in advance, Chris

Chris, it looks like it can't find the driver during the second stage of the install. In cases I needed a floppy drive on some server I used a Targus USB floppy which seems to work on most servers I have tried.
Hope this helps.

After some further reading, it may be to do with the software burning the newly created slipstreamed ISO - in that some ISO burning software needs to be compatible with 2003 server.

I have now created 4 different slipstreamed CD's with varying burning software and will try those tonight.

If not then a USB floppy may be the only answer.

I don't fully understand why it wouldn't pick the driver up during second stage install - when the raid controller is happily installed and during stage 1 - particularly as it finds the bootsector to launch the server 2003 splash screen before the bsod.

We'll see what happens tonight!

Cheers for the reply, Chris
