I'm getting "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage...... etc..... Run a system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacturer. In particular, run a memory check, and check for faulty or mismatched memory. Try changing video adapters..................
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007f (0c0000000D,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
Beginning dump of physical memory"
This occurs in a blue screen whenever I choose restart on the shut down window.
The first time I saw it was a couple of days after I added a Maxtor USB Hard Drive. I disconnected the device but still get the error. Last night I ran a memory check with MemTest, letting it run for over 9 hours. According to the utility, there were no errors recorded in memory. I've updated the drivers for the video card (ATI Radeon VE).
This morning, while attempting to update virus defs, (Norton AV 2002) I get the error that the v-def files are corrupt. In an attempt to reinstall NAV, I continue to get the BSOD when Norton tries to restart the computer after a Live Update.
In addition to all this, there have been issues with sound. From stutter on playback to drops of data while recording. For example, when recording a voiceover the line read should say, "Have you given thought to what you're giving your sweetheart Valentines Day?" But on playback says,"Have you given thought sweetheart Valentines Day".
