Stop CDR reporting on certain extension

How can I disable CDR records on particular stations in an Avaya G3si V6 switch?
 
Have you tried CDR privacy on the second page of the station forms? See below.

Yes, and after reading the documentation on CDR Privacy, that only masks the extension number but still records the call it's making. It's almost like blocking caller id...nothing more.
Unlike trunk forms that have a field to allow CDR or not, stations don't seem to have that easy a trigger. I don't know what else to do about this problem.
 
I am pretty sure that if you take it out of "ch intra" Change intra switch CDR, it will leave that set out.

Removing the extension from "intraswitch CDR" will only stop the collection of internal calls. Any calls made out of the office or outside calls made in to an extension will still be recorded.
 
This is true...Intraswitch CDR is call recording between stations internally...and removing them from that form does not "disallow" CDR for incoming and outgoing trunk type calls. If I shut CDR reporting off at the trunk level, what good is purchasing eCAS to begin with.

I can't seem to find a definitive answer...but maybe it's staring me right in the face...it just can't be done.

But that poses a problem with stations like modems and faxes and voice channels...items you don't really need CDR reporting on.

In my opinion, you do want CDR reporting on these items. What better way for fraud then to use a line like a fax machine to get around reporting? We once had unusual activity on a fax line - most fax calls are short; this fax machine was showing 30-45 minute long distance calls in the evenings. Turns out that a security guard was unplugging the fax machine, plugging in an analog handset, and making calls to his friends. In addition, you can also check on the data lines to make sure that they're not being used (or trying to be used) as a front door for hackers.

Just my opinion.....

I agree Susan. It seems that fax machines and modems from time to time will not diconnect. The CDR catches these calls and send reports for calls over ?? duration. I then busy and release these stations to release the trunk they are tying up.

But I'm sure others have come across this problem with their customers as well. Customers sometimes only want to have call accounting on certain extensions within their switch. Either they want it on a call center or maybe a department or maybe just use Intraswitch CDR for certain extensions to capture "non work related phone calls".

What ever the reason, customers seem to come up with the strangest of requests and these two systems, in their truest environments, really work like champs together. But when a customer poses a questions like this, it makes it difficult to "turn off" call reporting for extensions that don't matter to them.
I want to thank you for your input and your time. We may just have to bite the bullet and "oversize" the eCAS to the customers to accommodate for all the extensions that will produce a call record.
