My users want a series of reports which will only take into consideration "Working Days" - I have managed to create an object that will remove weekends from the equation, but I need to know how to deal with statutory holidays such as Christmas Day, New Years Day, Bank Holidays etc., etc., can anybody help???

We're using DB2 version 7.

Hello Iain,

Nice to know you work with DB2 version 7 as well.
I came across the same requirement some years ago and decided to solve the issue with a special calendertable that omits both the weekends AND all the special free days.

an algoritm will be able to omit the weekends, but the special holidays are just too irregular. A calendertable will the trick on both accounts......

My company had the same need. ie. reporting average sales per business day. The problem is that we are a Global Company and statutory holidays vary by busness unit. The way we solved this was my IT guy built a Table called "Business Days". This table contains the number of business days by Business Unit and Year/Month. We defined a business day as any day which had invoice amount > $0. Note that this only works because our business does not ship or invoice on the statutory holidays.
