Status Code 23 on backup

Hoping someone had some troublshooting advice on Status Code 23 socket read failed on Lotus Notes Backup. Were running Veritas 5 MP6 and other notes servers arent having the 23 issue. Just one particular server, the backup runs and gets to 99% complete and keeps running but then errors out with a 23 error. The backups runs for around 18 hours and then errors out. Just looking for some troubleshooting advice as I havent been able to find much on 23 errrors. Thanks.

One thing I noticed in the logs is a network read error, "the remote host did not respond within the timeout period" I wondering if I could increase this setting somewhere if that would help?

You can add an entry to the bp.conf file on a Unix server:

CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT = 900
** Default is 300 **

On a Windows server it is changed on the Host Properties > Master Server > Timeouts.
